Required Title IX Sexual Assault Training by Peter Lake, JD
We are pleased to announce that Peter Lake, prominent higher education attorney and Stetson Law School faculty member, will be on campus next Monday, October 9. He will conduct a Title IX-Sexual Assault training session for faculty and staff members from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. in the SAC Mezzanine. This session will provide you with the opportunity to complete the mandatory training required of all faculty and staff members.
As you should be aware, under federal law every USCA faculty and staff member has mandatory reporting responsibilities when they receive information about the sexual assault of a student. In order to assure that faculty and staff understand these responsibilities, all faculty and staff members must complete a Title IX-Sexual Assault Training every other year. Specific groups are required to complete the program annually.
This is the year that every faculty and staff member must attend a Title IX training session, so the USCA Human Resources Office and the Office of Student Life and Services encourages you to attend this important session with Peter Lake. (If you attended the August 14, 20167 Title IX session with Carl Wells from USC, your training requirement is completed for this year.)
Please let us know if you have any questions.
As a clarification, there will be additional Title IX training sessions held later this fall for those who can’t attend the session on Monday; they just won’t be with Peter Lake.
For those who are able to attend on Monday, there is no need to sign up in advance. We will have you sign in when you arrive.
