Parking Lot near Softball Field Changes
Dear Campus Colleagues –
On Aug. 20, we welcome the first cohort of Aiken Scholars Academy students to campus, specifically to the Ruth Patrick Science Education Center.
To accommodate ASA car and bus lines, we will modify the overflow parking lot near the softball field, beginning 8/6/18. See Map below.
Our contractors will create a new entrance into that parking lot to facilitate a one-way enter/exit traffic pattern, pour sidewalks, and post related traffic signage.
Please note, that you are advised to find other parking arrangements during the construction period.
After the construction is completed, you may still park in that area, but it will be rather congested and will not allow you to enter or exit this parking area during student drop-off and pick-up times after ASA classes start Aug. 20. For your planning purposes, student drop-off for the Aiken Scholars Academy will be from 7:30am to 8:00 a.m, Monday-Friday. In the afternoon, parents and families will pick up their ASA students from 2:30pm – 3:30 p.m.
During these timeframes, the parking lot will be inaccessible, so IF you park your car in that lot, it will have to be removed to accommodate ASA student pick up/ drop off.
The parking spaces will continue to be available to you outside of the hours dedicated to ASA pick-up/drop- off.
Please let me know if you have questions or need additional information.
