Dear Pacer Family –
Thanksgiving is one of my favorite days of the year, in large part because it is all about gratitude. It gives us an opportunity to pause during a hectic time in the academic calendar and be mindful of all our blessings.
This week, as we prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving with neighbors, family, and friends, I hope each of you has a little time to reflect on the many things for which you are thankful. I’d like to take this opportunity to share just a few things I’m grateful for with you.
I am thankful for the opportunities that being part of the USC Aiken community provides us, particularly the chance to mentor and guide our students. I’m thankful for our students who come to the university eager to be a part of the community and ready to learn. They give us all a daily reminder of what is important and why we are here. I’m thankful for the support of our donors, elected officials, and community partners who believe in our mission and are central to providing educational excellence for our students. I am thankful for the professors, staff, and campus leaders who care deeply about student achievement and always have the best interests of our students at heart, and I’m grateful to our alumni who want to give back to their alma mater by “paying it forward” to a new generation of Pacers by volunteering their time and investing their talents into the university.
May your Thanksgiving be filled with joy and peace, relaxation, and a little time for gratitude.
With very best wishes,
Sandra J. Jordan
