Fifth-Year Interim Review Concludes
USCA recently went through its fifth-year interim review with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), which is our regional accrediting body. Many may feel that we can now breathe a sigh of relief and not think about accreditation again until 2021 when we are due for our next SACSCOC review. However, remaining in a continuous state of compliance keeps us prepared for our next review and reduces that frantic crunch-time preparation leading up to the report deadline.
To ensure we are already preparing for our next re-accreditation review, USCA is sending a team to the SACSCOC Annual Meeting this December in New Orleans. USCA has six individuals attending the Annual Meeting, including five on the Class of 2021 Orientation Leadership Team. USCA’s Orientation Leadership Team members are Sandra Jordan, Chancellor; Daren Timmons, Interim Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs; Cam Reagin, Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration; Nicole Spensley, Director of Institutional Effectiveness, Research, and Compliance; and Lloyd Dawe, SACSCOC Liaison. The Class of 2021 Leadership Team will participate in special informational planning meetings as well as attend a set of specially designed concurrent sessions. Additional session tracks for the meeting include organization, reflection, learning, engagement, analytics, networks, and special topics. This is sure to be an informational event that will help USCA remain current, knowledgeable, and in compliance.
